Interestingly, if I focus on one specific circle, my mind will "pop" that circle out at me. I can repeat this for up to 5 different circles while maintaining the others. It actually, very literally, makes my head hurt to do so.
Dang, if I UN-focus my eyes, I can see the circles, but that pattern inside the circle's white space really wants to play with them if they are focused...
There is a spiral. The concentric circlesare a viewport onto an underlying background that is full of spirals. That's how the illusion works, after all.
