Seriously. First thing that comes to mind when I see these is the Innsmouth Look. Slightly squashed in a press, perhaps, but still the Innsmouth Look.

Deep sea fish have super huge, bulbous eyes to allow them to see the faintest differences of light above them. By looking upwards, these animals are able to see the silhouettes of fish above and go up and strike at a depth that, to the human eye, appears pitch black.

Deep sea life is awesome.
