Dear Apple.

"Bonjour"?

You suck. Anything installed without my express permission is malware, by definition. Bundling malware with your products makes you a BAD SOFTWARE COMPANY.

PS: Your OS10.5 update broke wireless connectivity for three of the PowerBooks in the office, causing them to not only fail to make a wireless connection but to DOS everyone else around them. And google tells me this has happened to a great many of your other customers, not just me. You are incompetent and you make lousy software.

"Bonjour"?

It was called "Rendezvous" which is a more sensible name on any number of levels, but then there were stupid trademark and/or patent concerns and they had to change it.

As to the other thing. Yeah. Awesome.

I consider it the same way I see NetBEUI in Windows, annoying default OS specific network discovery service that I can turn off.

And were I using a Mac and having this piece of stupid shit coming with my Mac, I might hold that same charitable view.

I, however, am NOT using a Mac, because I am an adult and I am not confused by having more than one button.

The one-button thing is so over. There are many valid criticisms of MacOS X and Mac hardware, but that's not one of them.

It will never be over, because the one-button idea was STUPID.

Windows sure is horrible, since version 1 couldn't have overlapping windows!

I still see one-button mouses on Macs!

Okay, then, wasn't Active Desktop just a terrible idea? Really, I don't know why you would cling to the past in this argument.

No, Windows is horrible because you can't fucking stack windows properly. What kind of idiotic idea is it to have the active window jump to front all the time?

You want itunes, you get some other shit with it. Deal with it.

It's not malware, it's payment for the free-ness of the cool stuff they give away.

Heee.

(I mean, really. I do get what you're saying, but at the same time, I'm amused at your assumption that because something is "payment for the free-ness" it *can't* be malware.)

Ah, of course, just like the offers of FREA V1AGRA that are so generously provided with email. They're payment, for the free-ness of instant email stuff!

Unwanted, undocumented, "back door" software installations are malware. Period.

No, that's just not true. They're trying to add value to using Mac software by offering iTunes.

Dear Complainer,

I am Steve Fucking Jobs and you will take whatever the fuck I decide to give you. If I don't give it to you, you don't need it. If I give it to you, you MUST take it. I am hip and cool and edgy and not just another egomaniacal billionaire. Rember the Lisa? That was so fucking cool! Rember how I took away your floppy with the original iMac? Now I'm taking away a bunch of other stuff you think you need with the MacBook (full of hot) Air. You weren't using those USB ports anyway! You'll take what I give you and pay more for less! If you don't like it, you can suck my mock turtle-necked cock!

Steve
