I've always had a lot of respect for ravens and crows. Not only are they smart, they seem to possess a sense of humour and fun.

It's probably a myth but a farmer once told me it was possible to teach a Magpie to parrot language.

I know ravens will imitate speech, and I think magpies have similarly sophisticated vocal apparatus, so it wouldn't surprise me.
