It really is a far better quality of doughnut than either Krispy Kreme (whose grease always sticks uncomfortably to the roof of my mouth) or Dunkin Donuts (which always have a slightly stale texture to me). We need 'em in States That Aren't Ohio Or Michigan.
We have them in Maine and Massachusetts. Before Weds moved back to Canada proper, when she would cross the ocean to visit we would make a Tim Hortons pilgrimage. Now that she's in Canada, the mystical appeal is somewhat lessened.

If he were running a brothel, that'd make his hard line against prosecuting prostitution so much more sensible. Then he's not a hypocrite who publicly denounces the things he loves; he's just a gangster using his influence and power to get rid of the competition.
It was a little more than that, though. See, Spitzer served as the starting point for the investigation, because these are extremely high priced ladies of the evening. He made several large transactions that looked like "structuring", a new white-collar crime that generally is intended to avoid the $10,000US-limit. After that, transactions are required to be reported to the federal government. His were just below that, and so it triggered the investigation.
So at first he really was "involved in" or "linked with" a Prostitution ring; it wasn't until later that they found out he was just another John. They will probably still charge him with structuring.
