Nice, but Clarke actually contributed useful, interesting things, that are still in use today. Gygax contributed useless, boring things, that are still in use today only by people who haven't advanced past 1980.

Gygax spent 25 years actively standing *in the way* of progress, and his only contribution was to inspire other people to throw out his work and redo it, from the ground up, better than he ever did.
