Caplock muzzle-loader, actually. They'd mostly replaced flintlocks by the Civil War. Dunno exactly what kind of gun it is, but it's purty.

Old guns in general are pretty, IMHO. Nowadays, they're clunky-looking hunks of metal and plastic, but back then, they were works of art. Especially when they were mostly hand-made.
