11 Students Plotted To Kill Third-Grade Teacher

"Each child at Center Elementary School in Waycross had a job to do, including one assigned to wipe up the blood.

The plot unraveled over the weekend when a student tipped off police,"

"School officials said they never imagined that some of the 8- and 9-year-olds boys and girls at the school would think of bringing physical harm to a teacher, WJXT reported."

I believe these school officials must never have been 8 to 9 years old to be unaware children of that age thought of these things.

See, I can even totally believe making detailed plans and getting duct tape and stuff, without most of them ever intending to actually do it.

Because it's make believe, and that's FUN.

Yeah, although bringing a knife to school is a bit more worrying.

Of course a stern talking-to from parents would be a more sane response than initiating criminal proceedings...

To be honest, I used to bring my pocketknife to school a lot, too. When they threatened to take it away, I pretty much stopped. Well, after the first couple of times, at least. Just threatening wasn't so useful at that age, you need to actually do it and then, eventually, maybe, relent. That's what gets through.

And there was this one substitute teacher that was very much the target of the two minute daily hate from everyone in the class...

Heh, damn, for some reason I was thinking of a proper knife, not a pocketknife. They turned up a fair bit at my school but I guess I'm just used to thinking of them as being occasional, normal and harmless.

Yeah, there are always some teachers who are pretty much hated. There was this PE teacher at my school was an asshole to most people, but - once he knew me - not to me. I think he had his approach to getting through to unruly giveashit teenagers but also knew when it wouldn't work with someone. I liked him for that, and I was pretty upset when he was killed in a motorbike accident and everyone I knew laughed about it. Kids eh.

Zero Tolerance means that in many schools in the US, bringing a *nail* to school in your pocket can get you expelled. Let alone a pocket knife.

Don't have to guess. Someone else on the f-list in that state mentioned it...

In addition to the knife being found, the school officials said other students had duct tape, handcuffs, ribbon and a heavy crystal paperweight.

...they were going to Feng Shui her to death?

Read an article about this incident earlier today. Something is dreadfully wrong with the kids, the teacher, or the school. Maybe all three.

I really doubt they were serious about it...
we plotted a lot of stuff that we never dreamed of actually enacting.
