Cute blinkies.

I think you need to see this.

I also think that you might use open-thread posts occasionally, for people to leave you "You need to see this" notes? Maybe?

"Neglect, theft, and ..." led to its decline.

How do you steal a 20-ton slab of rock?!

Close. It's a Schroedinger Engine. Some physicists (notably, none outside mental institutions) believe that, with the correct arrangement of cats in atomically-precarious states of aliveness in a single enclosure, the interaction of living and nonliving cats could be harnessed to extract Zero-Point energy. Thus far experimental evidence has failed to produce a working Schroedinger Engine, at least if one discounts the Fritz experiment.

Which was probably apocryphal.

With art posts like this one, is it not a good idea if you link to the

artist's page (mhttp://stuffedkittie.deviantart.com/art/14-Cats-in-a-square-box-anim-80766574/) ?

Because otherwise it's uncredited artwork, and that tends to make us kinda upset.

If John knows the source, he will always link back to it. If there's no link, and you know where it came from, just point him at it, and there will be. I suspect that when he wakes up, this will happen.

Aha!

Well, that's alright then ^^
My apologies for my post-dissertation brainlessness.

Jamie's exactly right - I found the image on a "random pictures" feed, in Russian, with no attribution. It's also hosted on a Russian server, with a randomly-generated filename.

So it makes it kind of hard to link back to the original source. It definitely is uncredited artwork, but not because I want to take it without credit - rather, because I have no way to learn the original source.

However, as soon as I know the source, I'll link it. Like here. Thank you, incidentally, for pointing me at the source.

Yeah, I understand that now.

Sorry for getting mildly pissy.

No apology necessary, and, honestly, *thank you* for finding the original artist.
