This didn't have a cut, but then people complained.

This a procedure used to relieve benign prostatic hyperplasia!

Could you put that under a cut? Maybe even a "Don't Click It"? Seriously.

It's always interesting to be reminded how others' brains differ from mine. Can you analyze why it's so disturbing without the analysis itself being similarly uncomfortable? I'm curious.

Well.. there's a tube in the penis that the doctor is looking into - first of all OW.

And on top of that he's got his two fingers in some very interesting spots. It's almost like bdsm, only way less fun. >.

I'm kind of with her, I can see how that could be attractive to some people.

Definitely not me, but, hey, I've seen The Guy With All Those AA Batteries Stuffed Up His Dick from BMEZine.com

A retired teacher living down the road has this done every 6 months. I felt sorry for him before, but now.........

If it's a cystoscopy, it's probably done with a flexible cystoscope. No need for transurethral prostate resection more than once or maybe twice.

It's a very boring operation. Done with a sort of cheese grater instrument, and it takes forever.

And if you don't like the clinical photo, you'll hate this and won't be able to stand this.

Thank God they use freezing. *Shudder*

It's always interesting to be reminded how others' brains differ from mine. To me, it registers as "just another medical drawing", no more disturbing than regular anatomical drawings despite the presence of equipment, so I was surprised, having seen it earlier, to come back to it and find that some folks had requested a lj-cut. I did think, "Gosh, if I ever need that I really hope they coat the instrument with some potent numbing cream, 'cause my urethra is awfully damned sensitive," but it was much more an intellectual reaction than a visceral one. And that was my second thought, not first; I first thought, "is the position of the left hand being shown to illustrate how to keep the patient's urethra straight enough for the 'scope to go in smoothly?"

On the other hand, a series of diagrams showing how to close the stump after amputation of a finger or hand might well make me shudder until I mentally distanced myself from what I was seeing. I'm not sure. It probably depends on my mindset when encountering it.

I'm not certain how much of this has to do with how drawings and diagrams affect me differently than photos, how much has to do with having spent a fair bit of time contemplating and visualizing surgical procedures in that area that I can't afford, and how much is just random different-brain.

This isn't nearly as disturbing as the other "Don't Click It!"'s you've posted.

As a matter of fact, I don't think it's disturbing at all. More like interesting.

That's what I said! I didn't even cut it, originally, until people complained.
