"On my first morning here, I rummaged through my luggage and discovered two things:

* A note saying our luggage had been searched by the Department of Homeland Security, and
* No socks.

One of two things may have happened here. The first is mere absentmindedness and coincidence, and the second is that the American national security establishment has stolen my socks.

I’ll let you guess which way I’m going to tell that story."

I like Mike.

I've got the feed Friended already. I just tend to link the original posts for feeds, to direct people to the actual blog instead of the Livejournal comment page.

Syndicated posts die after a while. It's a much better idea to link to the source post, as [livejournal.com profile] theweaselking has done.

Note my advanced and complex use of the word "Also."

It's a much better idea to let your audience decide how content is best consumed, and to provide them with options.

Alternately, it may have been a basic and simple use of the word "Also"... ;}P>

There are many things we can do to assist our fellows in this vale of tears...

I tend to link to the blog, and let people handle their own syndication from there. Sticking a half-dozen different syndication links in every post blog-linking post always struck me as redundant, and annoying when other people do it. Mike, for example, has two different RSS feeds, in addition to the livejournal account that reads one of them. Rather than link two, three, or four times, I link to him directly and let people who'd like to subscribe do so in whatever way makes them happiest.

This is my personal preference.

OUTGOING?!

I think I have the right, as an American, to smuggle a nuke into any country I bother to fly to.

Bastards.

No, not "outgoing". Mike's a Canadian, flying to Japan. The "Homeland Security" clown show only got a hold of his bags when he changed planes - meaning, given how the international parts of airport terminals usually work, neither he nor his baggage ever entered the USA, but Homeland Idiocy stole his socks anyway.

...I'd offer him a couple bucks but the loony might be worth more by the time they get there.
