Based on that picture, it appears she could quite readily make HERSELF quite happy without any outside assistance.

Owwwwwwwwwwwowowowowowowowowow. Oh my GOD just looking at the Achilles tendon straining out like that makes me HUUUUURT.

Interestingly the hip/upper torso doesn't cause the brain hurty. I think it's gone so far that my brain rejects it as "must be photoshopped".

Which I suppose could be the case anyways. But her Achilles are still under a LOT of strain either way.

That child has no hips... at ALL... and to do this- she must have dislocated the lower portion of her spine.

Contortionists alternately scare me and make me jealous.

Contortion or a very cleverly disguised three-person trick? I still can't decide.

Oh, it's real alright. I've witnessed this sort of thing being done in person. Freakier in real life, I assure you.

Auuugh, I imagine. I can just hear the joints popping and the ligaments stretching. Shudder.

In case anyone cares, I saw a show about contortionists, and even though it can be learned to a point, most of them have the same type of genetic blip that gives them hyper-extendable joints, and ligaments that have more stretch then normal.

Eh, it's mostly down to a f* load of practice. I started cracking my fingers at 12ish, and now I'm hyperflexible in my finger knuckles. The more you stretch, the further your tendons can go.

Ah, I re-read and your "to a point" thing stands out more. Didn't mean to be that critical, I just know a few and they put a hell of a lot of work into it.
