No smilie here. Sometimes violence is a solution, but not reliably. Also, the violence is only likely to damp out if people think you're entitled to use it.

What's actually needed is a consensus of not abusing women, and a gun isn't a reliable method of getting a consensus.

Aside, I agree with a previous poster that the issue isn't "The victim should have been more violent." The issue is, "We live in a rape culture where sexual assault of women is a spectator sport."
