Didn't you post this before? At least, I remember seeing it somewhere, and then seeing some huge follow-up discussion about why it was/wasn't cruelty to animals and stuff.

My practical thought would be "yes, but isn't glass way heavier than chitin? Can the poor thing still *move*?" (could be a polycrabonate of some sort, of course)
My impractical thought is "dude. I wonder what *else* we can make transparent!
