Dances with snakes!

You find the greatest pictures, which simultaneously make me happy about the power of photography and despair of ever taking one as good.

I have an advantage, though. I don't take *any* of them[1], so I'm filtering from the best photographs of everyone in the world, instead of merely pictures I personally take.

Interesting. I'm trying to figure out if it's a sea snake, or an egg eating snake. It seems really... flattened from side to side, with a wee little head on the end, at least from this angle.

Neither, it's a kind of rat snake, probably Ptyas mucosus. Sea snakes wouldn't be on land like that, and egg eaters have rougher-looking scales.

It's a Coelognathus radiatus, or Radiated rat snake. Beautiful animals, although not overly friendly from what I hear. I <3 Asian ratsnakes like this. My male Orthriophis taeniurus ssp used to inflate like that when we first got him home. They do that when scared or upset, kind of like a cobra. They hiss like a fire hose!

I'm glad you knew :) I'm not so great with my Asian rat snakes, though I do have a stinky Elaphe carinata juvenile :)

Yeah, he's smelly, fast metabolism, lots of musky poop.

He is sometimes okay, but he has a short fuse.
