And now, Necessary Evil! I haven't done an "RPG results" post in a long while.

The premise of the game is simple: In a comic-book world much like the Marvel Universe, aliens have invaded, taken over the planet, and killed all the superheroes.

This has left superVILLAINS with the unenviable task of saving the world.

Everyone needs to play this game.

Necessary Evil is what the publisher calls a "Plot Point" campaign - they've got a whole printed, pre-set story that you can run through, if you want to. And since I'm lazy, I want to. (PS: Here be spoilers for Necessary Evil's main prewritten campaign.)

Now, with Real True Quotes!

I haven't been this happy since I got my secret decoder ring when I was three. And made it work.

Our Villains:

Phosphorous Jack: Gadgeteer with the powers of SCIENCE!, a love of the Green Goblin, and very real and fundamental desire to never under any circumstance feel pain of any sort! Has a great grasp of what it means to be a Villain in pursuit of Villainy in the name of SCIENCE! She's mad because the V'sori killed her archnemesis The Alchemist, and, dammit, NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO DO THAT BUT HER.

Fallout Boy: Former sidekick to the legendary Captain Atom, he was left to die on a mission, and the Captain assumed he'd just need to stick a memorial in the Atom-Cave or something and collect the sympathy. Instead, this nuclear-powered brick may be dead, but that hasn't actually *stopped* him. He prefers "Disintegrator", but everyone still calls him Fallout Boy anyway. He is very emo about all this.

General Failure: "Abort or Retry THIS!" Secretly a Hybrid agent of the Atlantean Resistance, General Failure has taken her natural psionic luck-influencing talents and he skills with technology to form a supervillain identity

"Lord Kasimir Verenkov: Count Dracula here is a vampire. He ruled a small European country with an iron fist, resisting the onslaught of unclean technology for centuries. This, unfortunately, made him very easy to conquer, when the aliens finally noticed him. He wants his country back, but that means killing all the V'Sori first. Luckily, V'sori blood is somewhat tasty.

"I only have six Heavy Armor. "
"Six? I only have two, and I call that adequate!"
" I understand, you have less to live for."

"Jailbreak!" actually happened in two parts, for Our Villains, due to scheduling issues. In a bizarre DC-esque continuity error, the same mission was run *twice* by two different sets of characters, and Phosphorous Jack actually ran it *twice*. In an equally DC-level FURTHER continuity error, neither group is a aware of the duplication, and both think it happened the same, combined way, with the same, single, combined team.

Having been captured by the aliens and in transit to a prison camp, Our Villains are rescued by the legendary Dr Destruction, who is the last major villain unaccounted for, and, with the death of the hero Champion in the invasion, quite possibly the single most powerful person left on Earth. He also runs the resistance, which, as it is the last hope of humanity, is called Omega.

After the predictable "come with me if you want to live", which all of them accept, Our Villains are given two choices: Work for Destruction as a cell, or die. Unsurprisingly, they accept this one, too, and are promptly dropped... into the very prison camp they were being shipped to in the first place. And told that they need to break another prisoner out. Of course, they don't have Nullifier Shackles on any more, and most of the guards are off attempting to rescue the crew of the downed prison transport. Which means it's a turkey shoot.

"I'm supposed to strap this to my wrist?"
"It's a little small for your neck."

Having busted their target out of jail and evacuated, Our Villains are released into the wilds and left to their own devices, and told they will be contacted again should their services be needed. After all, they've just made a deal with Destruction, and he does not take well to traitors.
