All I know is if that was a corpse the stitches would be different.

But that looks a lot more like a morgue than an operating theater, unfortunately....but maybe it's just a less than modern hospital? One could hope.

Actually, it does look a lot like a morgue. I've never seen stitches like that done on a corpse though, normally it's just a tight baseball stitch to keep everything together. I'm fairly certain those are stitches, though they could be staples. Given the quality of the linens, the tray left on the legs, and the sheet pulled up to mid-forehead. After a second look, yeah, that's probably a corpse...

But I'm no longer a professional in that field anymore, so odds are I'm horribly wrong regardless of what opinion I make.
