Meat cheese!

I'm not sure which I'm more amused by. The fact they've labeled meat as cheese, or that there's no indication of what kind of cheese that sticker *should* have gone onto.

At a truck stop in PA, I once saw this:

Eggs and Bacon
Eggs and Ham
Eggs and steak
Eggs and sausage
Eggs and Meat

What the hell could this meat be? And where can I get some?

Ina an Indian restaurant, the menu offered a Meat Dansak, which I had to try. I still don't know what that meat was, but at least it wasn't rat.

Dhansak is always really tasty curry, though. So it wouldn't matter if it was rat!

Usually "Meat" is mutton, or in high-class joints lamb. And no-one can tell me any different.

If they aren't willing to identify the meat, do you really want it? At a truck stop, it's probably unidentified road kill ;)

Obviously, you can get some at that truck stop.

This has to be a pretty old picture. $1.79 a pound for cheese? Goddamn, that's cheap.

Know what sucks? I live in NZ, a country which produces truly ridiculous amounts of dairy, and yet it's still stupidly expensive here too. Because the farmer people can charge what they please overseas, basically. So they charge the same when selling here. It makes economic sense to THEM, but it sucks.

I once picked up a mislabeled package of brownies, normally ~ $3, for $0.85 because they'd labelled it as a loaf of white bread. (Nowadays I'd be ecstatic to actually get a loaf of bread for 85 cents, but that's a different problem.)

When I was eating at a Kibbutz cafeteria in Israel, they were selling "Lamb, Chicken, and Bees".

STILL NOT KOSHER!

Customer: Have you in fact got any cheese here at all?

Owner: Yes, sir.

Customer: Really?

Owner: No. Not really, sir.

Customer: You haven't.

Owner: Nosir. Not a scrap. I was deliberately wasting your time, sir.
