I have witnessed the opposite of this image. I was about 12 years old. One my family's land in the country, there is a pond, about 30 meters across, ringed with cattails and trees. In the cattails, I saw some movement. I got closer and saw a very large bullfrog with a small snake's tail flapping round. The head and the rest of the snake was in the frog's mouth.
For years I told this story and not one person believed me. I started thinking maybe I didn't see what I thought I saw. Then, a few years ago, there was a special on bullfrogs on the Discovery Channel. Turns out, there is video documentation of exactly what I saw. Bullfrogs eat anything that will fit in their mouths. There was footage of a frog's tongue pulling a small bird of a cattail even.
I felt quite vindicated.

For years, I couldn't figure out WHY the ducks on the pond in the middle of the college campus NEVER had ducklings, I mean- it wasn't like there were going to be large predators with all those humans around, right?

Well, between the raccoons and foxes going after he eggs, and the bullfrogs and big mouth bass gulping the fuzzy ducklings down WHOLE,...

*random stranger passing through*

Oddly enough I never even CONSIDERED the idea of fish eating birds (except in sci-fi films) till I saw a video clip from.. japan? China? Something like that of a giant carp picking off a line of ducklings. It blew my mind a little.

That's wicked awesome. Reminds me of a kingsnake that had swallowed a copperhead. When I saw it, the copperhead's tale was just sticking out of the kingsnake's mouth. I know it was a copperhead because, after I caught the kingsnake (no hardship - he was full and sluggish!), he regurgitated and then reswallowed it.
