Argh. Why pick such disprovable arguments?

I've been to Death Valley. Not really a good place for caves. In the middle you have kilometers deep of alluvial fill - gravel. Not sturdy enough for caves. On the east side the mountains are uplifted metamorphics - about as hard of rocks a possible. No natural caves, and damn hard to mine through. One the west side you have less deep metamorphics - same argument. Meanwhile, I'm not hiding my city in caves in an active fault system (as evidenced by fault scarps in the alluvial fans and the giant valley).
