There are some interesting games on the 360 (interesting to me, anyway) that I want, but the only thing that was on the PS3 that I wanted was FF.

I was looking at either no more FF (BOO!) or buying two consoles (DOUBLE BOO!)

My favs are FFVI (on SNES was FF3) and FFVIII. I agree, XII was good, but otherwise yeah.. starting with FFX it started losing something for me. :(

? A game is a game. This hang up on graphics is what has 99% of the game production companies spewing out shit. If we spent as much time on developing plot and character development as we did caring about pixel count, it might be worth it to spend $50 on a game.

And yet, since an old game means that there's no future AND that I can get the game in any format I want for any system I want, any time I want, the game is totally irrelevant in a systems argument.

4 was okay. 6 was good, a decade ago. 7 was good, 8 was okay at best, 12 was workable and okay if easy compared to 7+8.

I have a DS, and I wouldn't want that. Games on the DS quite literally feel smaller scale. I'd love a Wii Suikoden that focused in good gameplay and stayed true to the originals.

I was gonna be so mad if I had to get PS3 just for the Final Fantasy games. I knew I'd have to get a 360 eventually b/c there's awesome stuff out for it (yes, I also want a Wii) but the PS3 just holds no appeal.

Sorry Sony, we had a good time w/ the PSone and PS2. Your PSP is awesome tech but didn't have many games that interest me, and the PS3 is just unappealing. It's been a gas.

Honestly, I never thought I'd like the xbox b/c it's Microsoft, but they're pretty decent with sweet games. But deep down I'm still a Nintendo fangirl (damn you, Zelda games!).

Because my PC has about half the muscle needed to run it, and I'd rather invest in a console than more power for a windows machine I only use for a few games.

Oblivion does look like bum on really low-spec machines, but I was running it on release on an Athlon 64 3000 with a Radeon 9800 Pro. It looked lush and ran very smoothly. Is your kit that much worse than that?

The main advantage of playing it on a PC is the modding scene, which is just ace. The best mods I used a few years back were one that rescaled the inventory so that it was more practical for PC gamers, one that reduced the generosity of loot drops by enemies, and one that concealed the essential/non-essential icons that appear over NPCs. Very nice.

Oddly enough, the few people I know that want one want it for Disgaea 3 and Valkyria Chronicles. Personally, I'm still wishing Konami would do Beatmania IIDX for the 360, with downloadable tracks on Live, but I'm more likely to get a pony first.

Bottom Line:

PS3 = amazing technology with shitty game production and even shittier user interface + bugs galore.

XBOX360 = Fantastic Internet interface with a superior collection of game releases that PS3 seems to only use as a basis for their own releases (case in point: BIOSHOCK is just now coming out for the PS3).

Go XBOX!
