A reminder:
Jul. 28th, 2008 04:23 pmSpam kills. Protect yourself. Protect your family. Protect your CHILDREN. Kill a spammer today.
actually, fuck the children. Protect the NETWORK. But whatever your reason, kill a spammer. It's good for the soul, AND tax-deductible.

Am I the only one to find the "21 months (just under two years)" pretty appalling, both for the writer and his intended audience?

Date: 2008-07-28 11:57 pm (UTC)As someone pointed out in the comments of that article, spam is a criminal activity that costs $42 Billion dollars a year, in the US alone.
Given that the US government stakes the value of a single human life at $6 million, this means that spammers are committing a crime equivalent to MURDERING SEVEN THOUSAND PEOPLE A YEAR.
It's funny. I'm not really in favour of the death penalty for murder, and I think the $6 million figure is total bullshit, and at the same time, DEATH TO SPAMMERS. ALL SPAMMERS SHOULD BE KILLED IMMEDIATELY. I don't feel even *slightly* bad about the people who send "thank you for your support for Falun Gong. Death to Communism!" responses to Chinese spammers.
Kill all the internet spammers! Then go after the phone spammers! Then the politicians who think phone spam is okay when *they* do it!
I think I know why they'll never let me run the world.
