Would anyone like to be a primary-school teacher in Belgrade?

No, really. First and Third Graders. In English. Job starts in September. Belgrade. Yes, THAT Belgrade. ~400km from Budapest, ~1100km from Athens, on pretty much a straight line between the two.

(~500km from Brasov. I'm just sayin', it's in Yurp.)

EDIT: Pay is apparently ~1.5K GBP/mo, as well as free room and board, airfare, etc. And cost of living in Belgrade is teeny. Click the link and email for details.

Only problem is that it would require me to leave Canada. Which means I can't take Carl with me (yes, my cat).

If I wasn't still in school myself I would totally do this. Sounds like a great experience.

I've lived in Bratislova (Slovakia) for 3 months and I will tell you all that its a really fun experience. I can't tell you what its like for sure since my experience was about 11 years ago but be prepared for grocery stores that are only open during working hours or for 4 hours on Saturday and very small apartments and lots of cold water and people who (to our noses) smell in the winter.

One piece of advice that was given to me when I left to work in Athens and I followed for there and Bratislova and passed on to many people - if the airlines still allow it - use a trunk instead of a suitcase. You then have good storage while there.
