A naked mole rat. They are the only truly colonial mammal. They have a queen and the rest of the "hive" pretty much serves her. They dig like maniacs; they use those big front teeth to scoop dirt that can be as hard as cement. I believe they're from Africa.
But what kills me about this photos is that even a creature with a tiny brain that barely functions as more than a tiny blip of the colony project happiness. Or something like that.
