I thought having 'psychopath' forcibly but amateurishly mapped over your personality was pretty much a foregone conclusion nowadays, for anyone volunteering to be a soldier.
If Cloud isn't emo, Squall definitely isn't emo, ESPECIALLY by Disk 3. Sure, he starts out quiet and reclusive, but all that changes by the end of the game. Which brings us back to KH, the alluded-to events of which would have had to have taken place after FF8 had run its course, rendering Squall not emo.
