Really unfortunate angle of a kangaroo with a joey in her pouch.

Yes, Kangaroo pouch with a joey foot and tail showing.

It took me a minute to work out, after the initial WTF moment.

The pouch is all stretched out because the baby is getting big. The mom kangaroo's head is offscreen to the right, and you can just see her tail going off to the left, underneath her left leg. The only reason I knew it was a kangaroo is because they have really distinctive feet, to be honest. (I suppose it could be a wallaby.)

I guessed it was a kangaroo because that's a pouch on the *front* of a large mammal.

That makes it kangaroo or wallaby, and when I hear hoofbeats, I don't think "zebra".

The legs and hips are all wrong for that, as is the scale against the grass and the grating. This is a LARGE marsupial.

(Oh, and the coloration is wrong for a Koala)

I'm still having trouble seeing the pouch part; it just looks like a big hole to me.

I had trouble with it as well. I guess I just always thought it would be more pocket like. That's actually pretty gross looking.

If it helps any, stop thinking "pouch" and start thinking "Convenient pre-cesarean-sectioned open-access womb with built-in-milk-bar."

This is not a place for midgets to ride. This is an organ.

that would have only made me think "vagina" which is what I thought in the first place.

Well, I suppose it's really no weirder than walking around owning a vagina, although I don't generally use mine as a playpen.

Um...that is...I mean...oh, just never mind.
