Furnace not working? Easy solution:

Somebody certainly agrees.

"What? It's MY burny. All mine."

Kitties are the best at finding the warmest spot. Also, I think they absorb all the heat by lying there. I swear it gets cooler when a cat settles down near a fire.

The dog had the bright idea of lying down on top of Frances to stay warm.

o.O

I hope Frances showed the dog who's boss.

This dog is *not* playing dominance games when she does that. She had to be encouraged to do it, and did her best to get her head *under* Frances' hand while lying on her legs.

But yeah. Sleepy puppy found a warm spot.

(PS: Frances is my wife, not the cat. Because I just now realised that might not be clear.)

Bahaha, I totally thought it was the cat until you posted the bit about her hand, etc.

Oooh.. yeah I thought you meant Frances was the kitty. :X If you gave the cat and puppy names that would also help. ;)

Is your kitty an Abyssinian?

Yes she is. Purebred, tattoo and all. I got her from the humane society as a tiny kitten, where she'd been dumped after having *all four paws declawed*.

She wasn't a stray. She was dropped at the pound, by the owner, with the stated reason being "she walks on the counters".

Yeah. Previous owners? COMPLETE ASSHATS.

But she's a lovely, wonderful cat and I'm really glad they did that, because otherwise I wouldn't have her.

Good freaking grief. I do a LOT with cat rescue (you should read my journal sometime), and I still find myself surprised at the asshattery of people, although I should be jaded by now.

She is beautiful; I love Abys. My Aakhu is an ocicat, which is Aby/Siamese mix, but his mom was mostly Aby, so he's silver ticked instead of spotted.
