A .38 rifle I use for target shooting about once a year[1] (and I'm still pretty damn good with it) and a 12-ga shotgun that's in theory for hunting but that has never actually been used that way despite a couple of my clients wanting me to go out with them every year.

I'm not a gun nut, and I'm obviously not an avid hunter, but I *do* know how to use 'em.

Yeah... I was discussing this with my boss today.

There are several problems:
1) Obama gets elected... and the radical racist rabid fringe of the pubs go absolutely batshit crazy
2) Obama, leading by 15 in some polls.. loses with widespread rumors of cheating... and my brothers and sisters lose their shit in the belief (possibly rightfully) that the election was stolen.
3) Obama wins, and gets assassinated. Take the Rodney King riot, increase it by 3 orders of magnitude, square it and spread it to most of the major metropolitan areas.

I'm not 100% certain that there's any coming back from any of that.

I particularly liked their idea that they'd kill a whole bunch of people across many states (and would manage to decapitate a carefully-chosen number of them, which is harder than it sounds unless you have a chainsaw or a hand-held guillotine), and would then, dressed in white tuxedos, have a fair shot at assassinating a major party candidate for President.

Because the Secret Service, facing a couple of white guys on a murder rampage across many states, would hear reports of them coming close and confidently say to the black Presidential candidates "We're pretty sure they're after someone else. You just sit here and relax."

I mean, if you want to kill some guy, and you're pretty sure that you might not succeed but what the hell, why not start with trying to kill him, rather than killing a bunch of other people first to tip your intended target off?
