Not the first study of its type to see brain abnormalities.
Unfortunately, the stress of being in pain all the damn time does take its toll in other ways. Also, a lot of us who have it, have other things too--I DO have arthritis, and my thyroid is pretty much kaput.
"Fibromyalgia may be related to a global dysfunction of cerebral pain-processing," Guedj added. "This study demonstrates that these patients exhibit modifications of brain perfusion not found in healthy subjects and reinforces the idea that fibromyalgia is a 'real disease/disorder'."
As friend of (to my knowledge, at least one) fibromyalgia sufferer, I welcome these news. Well... you know what I mean.

Interestingly I'd suffered from depression for as long as I can remember, but it noticeably improved after I developed Fibromyalgia (and Lupus).
