Pop quiz: : What is Africa?

If you said "A continent", you know more about Africa than Sarah Palin!

According to McCain's staff, on Faux Noose, of course.

I've got a shiny nickle that says that she's going to be the Junior Senator from Alaska in six months. I hope I'm wrong, mind you, but if Ted Stevens holds on to his lead in the election she would win the special election to replace him if she wanted it.

Interesting, but scary, thought. That would make a lot of sense. I couldn't believe that they elected him!

I'm really hoping that our (New Hampshire's) ex-governor, now our shiny brand new Senator, will end up being the first female president (though I would accept a higher ordinal number).

Heh, this reminds me of the "Who's LIne Is It Anyway" show where Drew Carry made the same mistake. Ofcourse, he realized before the words were even out of his mouth that he was wrong, and he was not competing for public office, but still.

It's like those people who are convinced Alaska and Hawaii are just of the coast and south of California...that is what it shows on the map, after all!

US citizens can read a map?? Who knew? -_^ Probably one of those maps that exclude all other countries, like Canada and Mexico.

Most likely. I mean, it's not like they're important anyhow, right? More like decoration around the US. And Puerto Rico, and Guam? Those might as well be foreign countries so far as public school is concerned!

She can't see Mexico from her house, so she is not aware of it.

Not counting territories that belong to other countries (such as Puerto Rico -US, and Aruba - Netherlands), the countries of North America include:

Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines (pretty sweet band name), Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States.

Yes, Central America and the Caribbean are part of North America.

I mean maybe my comment was a little unclear but

I suppose that they are all a part of NAFTA, then?

Oh wait wait no there are only three countries in NAFTA.

Christ.

He used to be a lot more partisan but there's been an entertaining bleed-out over the last two years. I'm pretty sure he'll be out of a job in 6 months...as soon as they notice.

I know more about Africa than Sarah Palin!

But, alas, as evidenced by a game of Trivial Pursuit one night, neither my mother nor my sister do.

(Q: In what country are roast tiger penises considered a delicacy?"
Mom&Sister: Africa!
Me: First, tigers are native to Asia, not Africa, but that's forgivable. Second, Africa is a continent, not a country!)

Sigh, I'm a genetic aberration.

I can almost pity the staffers. I mean, fancy running a campaign and then having Palin dumped in your lap... I mean how do you work with that?
