And a Russian frigate to boot!

Speaking of Somali pirates, have your heard about any fall out from that hijacked Ukraine shipment of tanks? I haven't.

I believe the obligatory response here is 'what Somali pirates,' indicating said pirates are no longer an issue.

Now I'm curious. What did happen to them?

Last I heard they were running out of food, water, fuel, etc.

According to yesterday's news (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7725372.stm), the standoff is continuing. (The ship with the tanks is the MV Faina, down towards the bottom of the article.) There haven't been many specific updates about the ship in Google News, but one from October 20 indicated that all of the captured crewmen seemed healthy at the time.

HA!

I love it when pirates pick a fight with modern military forces. The outcome is always amusing. And yet: They never seem to learn.
