...I guess its good that he has chalk (or some other questionable white powder).

Most rock-climbers will carry small bags filled with chalk powder to remove moisture from their hands, affording them better grip.

Gymnasts do as well, I've noticed. As do pitchers (as in baseball), not the water vessel haha). I used to chalk my one hand when playing billiards so that the cue would glide smoothly (since it would catch at times from sweat).

I would think that gliding smoothly across a surface is NOT what's wanted here, and that it's more likely some sort of resin...

Awwww. So cute, makes my heart melt.

Reminds me of a kid I knew in college who liked to climb. We all called him Wally. Once he chimneyed (climbed similar to the pic above) up the library (9 stories high), and campus security got really upset at him. He was the only person who i trusted with my library roof key.

I was too short to chimney the library effectively. =P

"Look ma! No hands!"

Yeah.. I really admire the phrase "Don't look down" right about now. I'm not afraid of heights, I'm afraid of falling. So long as I have a harness or I'm on a solid surface, I'm good. What freaks me out is that he's being supported by his legs and the crevices, and NOTHING ELSE.

Shit like this is why men have shorter lifespans.

I agree with what others have said here: that would have been one hell of a climb carrying balls like that.
