If you're sleeping next to the hippos, I kind of have to think you deserve it.
It's like falling into an open grave in a cemetary in the middle of the night - the kind of person who does that is the kind of person who deserves it!
Hippos rock. Charmed a zookeeper into letting me come behind the scenes to visit with a mama hippo and her baby. We fed them cantelope. Weirdest thing is that their skin secretes this pinkish foamy stuff to keep them moist....looks like they're perpetually bleeding.
