They lie. Foam rubber darts effectively block UV radiation effects on the corneas, which is why I used to shoot them at my brother's face.

...I once bought a luggage strap with a warning label printed on the bit of cardboard it was wrapped around:

CAUTION: Power tools must only be operated while wearing suitable eye protection.


This was not a sticker; it was actually printed on the cardboard center which also, quite clearly, stated that this was a luggage strap.

...The prospects of luggage strap as power tool boggle the mind, frankly.

But gee whiz, nerf doesn't protect you from UV radiation? Who knew?
