Judge orders new trial for murder suspect because, in his opinion, the defense was absolutely terrible.

For bonus points: Family of the victim agrees with him. Whoops, I was conflating her comments with the juror below her's comments.

Disbarment. If a lawyer isn't recognized by the state Bar Association, they can't do law professionally anymore. Generally someone has to complain to the Bar about a particular lawyer's conduct before anything happens, but the judge in question may have already.
