I have to say, New Zealand's domestic airports have a refreshingly simple security scheme.
They don't have X-ray machines or security terminals. They asked me if I was carrying a bomb. I said no. So they put my bag on the plane and waved me through.
When I was headed back to Iraq from R&R in 2004, we were stuck in Cyprus (not sure whose side) for 26 hours, not allowed to leave the plane, because some part fell off the wing. They eventually decided that it wasn't that important and we ended up taking off anyway.
