Bruce Dickinson has a fever... and the only prescription... is more Coleridge.

Wait, what?

Iron Maiden covering Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

And don't forget Bruce's solo album featuring William Blake (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chemical_Wedding).

I love that album. And Jerusalem is always great for breaking people's brains.

I'm not that familiar with Iron Maiden; do they cover a lot of 18th & 19th century poetry?

they do a lot of interesting topics, from Revelations (as in the Bible), the Flight of Icarus, Run to the Hills (about the plight of American Indians), etal.

um.. is that really a "cover" cause if it's the song i'm thinking of then that was a song written by Steve Harris for Iron Maiden right? Man i love that song. I even used a clip of it in a oral report for an english class.

It's kind of a cover. It's certainly an adaptation, and it's a lot closer than, say, Blind Guardian's LotR music.

If Judas Priest's "Johnny B Goode" is a cover (and I say it is, despite a completely different tune and rhythm), and Madonna's "American Pie" is a cover (and I say it is, despite cutting out many of the verses), then I figure Iron Maiden can have a "cover" that cuts out a lot of the verses and adds a tune.

i usually thing of a cover as something that keeps most of the lyrics intact and maybe changes the style. In the case of this, i feel adding a tune and greatly shortening it makes that definition tenuous.
