BAHHHH HHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

i have a theory about b2: (haveing spent too much time studying the pagen in its natural habitate)

to find your spirit animal, you have to go on a vision quest. for most people this involves some ritual of some sort.

the proliferation of all the "cool" animals comes from pagen social presure.

seriously, after hearing bob, tell the tail of what "wolf" told him... do you really want to admit that you vision quested and "turkey" showed you the mysteries of being cooked and that your place in the universe is meat for the grinder?

hell no. everyone wants to be Neo. not just some cog.

though amusingly, the last time someone lied about their spirit guide, a chimunk threw nuts at his head for the rest of the weekend.

It's like furries. Nobody ever has a "true, animal self" that isn't a "cool" animal. Nobody's "true self" overweight or ugly unless that's specifically involved in their fetish.

And chipmunks will throw things at anybody, for any reason. The best chipmunks are smart enough to realise that you will feed them more if they throw stuff at other people.

They didn't. You'll notice, I suspect, a total lack of wombat furries. However, they're still cool.

I willingly admit that, had I a spirit guide, it'd probably be Sloth if I'm lucky.

-- Steve would give this animal guide stuff more credit if someone would admit to having the spirit of Hagfish watching over him/her/it.

PS: now, there have been particularly pollen-laden times at which I've felt I've been channelling Hagfish...

The Raven and Wolf thing is probably slightly less shallow than it looks - the ravens show up in the mythology on both sides of the Atlantic at the very least, the wolves in Europe and Asia, with coyotes in North America. So there is something archetypal about them that we porcupines seem to lack. I am not sure why. Also, I am not sure why the lack of lions, but I suspect Narnia.

It's an increasingly common abbreviation of "To Long; Didn't Read"... sometimes this is more a critique of the reader than the poster, though.

-- Steve has also seen it used as a flag for an "executive summary" included in a long post, as a self-referential way of summing up the critical points for those who can't or won't read the whole thing.

Speaking as a polyamorist that has an LJ but no longer lets those two worlds collide... the poly lj scene is one craaaaazy place. But really, what can you expect on a public, non-face-to-face, barely regulated forum concerning alternative sexual/romantic lifestyle choices? I wonder if monogamy-centric communities also have depressingly predictable shenanigans-- though I suppose using this bingo card as a representation of the poly community is like using the generic romantic comedy film as the standard for monogamy.

Also, even while using my entire archived LJ I still can't seem to get one line on this BINGO card! Does that mean I'm not poly enough? Clearly I need to get an icon with breasts that recites vogon poetry...

"compersion" is pervo jargon for "the pleasure you get seeing your partner be happy with someone else".

Kind of like the opposite of jealousy. There's a wikipedia article on it, which is how I know.

I feel really old whenever I hear these new words or acronyms, because I keep finding them more and more useless and trite. "Whatevs" and "totes" are beginning to put my teeth on edge. I do believe compersion is going on that list.
