People, people, how hard is it to make your programs in *one language*? I don't even care if it's English, I just want it to be consistent. I should NOT have to deal with half your menus in French, a third in English, and the rest in something that I'm pretty sure is Korean.

As well, you should *not* have your fingerprint reader hijack Windows' login box and look the same, but lack Domain options *and* give error messages like "The Account Not Found!" or "The Password Are Wrong!". These things worry me.

Your recovery disks: see that "only one language thing"? As well, the question "Do you want to back up your important data and windows settings before recovery?" should NOT have an answer of "No" mean "I do not want to run recovery, please quit and boot from HDD1" and "Yes" mean "Start re-imaging the disk immediately". There was nothing on that computer I wanted, but if there had been, I would be angry at that option. As well: English is a complicated and nuanced language, I know, but you're fucking TOSHIBA. You can afford to pay an English speaker to read your dialogs and correct *spelling errors*. "Factory default software", not "factry defallt softwares".

No love,
me.

I would seriously be EXTREMELY hesitant about installing something that sloppy on a machine!

It comes preinstalled. Since it also tends to destroy XP Pro's built-in file encryption system, uninstalling the fingerprint reader software is a common troubleshooting step for Toshiba laptops.

(Toshiba laptops are, for the record, the devil. If you want a good laptop, buy Fujitsu. If you want a tough laptop, buy Lenovo. If you want a cheap laptop, buy Acer or Asus. If you want someone else to fix all of your problems with no questions asked and no delays, buy Dell. If you want an unending nightmare of terrible interfaces, poor translation, crappy hardware, weird incompatibilities, and general pain, buy Toshiba.)

You know what I hate? Recovery disks. If I pay a bajillion dollars for your software on my computer, I want a BLOODY COPY OF IT so I can reinstall it when I feel like it.

My mantra as a localiser and translator: either you make sure you get or do a GOOD localisation, or you had better not bother at all.

Man. They're paying you your salary to do what they used to pay me my salary to do.

Laying me off was a total money-saver, amirite?

The original problem was more my speed: "All the login information has gone kablooie and we can't even select domain vs local machine".

The solution was "Hmm, nothing seems to work. Do we care about anything on this machine? No? Fuck troubleshooting, then."

Be glad you don't have to use a not-English version of Windows then. Yeah, Windows itself is very well translated and localized, but the rest of the software won't necessarily be.

I've used French, German, Korean, and Swedish windows. Never for very long, though.
