Date: 2009-02-20 06:38 pm (UTC)Idle thought: Fertilised eggs don't necessarily successfully implant in to the womb, and often just pass out unnoticed by the mother. It's one of the major reasons conceptions fail. So, if we say fertilised eggs have human rights, doesn't that make natural reproduction dangerously irresponsible? Shouldn't we be using artificial means to give each egg the best chance possible?
I know they don't mean it to apply when a pregnancy ends naturally, but it amuses me that they sound like that they're actually trying to ban sex.
