I'm having a lot of trouble seeing the eyes as eyes. I can't move past the nostrils as eyes.

"Fuzzy" is not strictly accurate in this case, surely.

Izza scaly! *squoozles it, gets bit*

It's not fuzzy, but it's *A* fuzzy.

A fuzzy is anything you squooozle.

Shocking mammalcentrism! :O Fuzziness is no more an inherent characteristic of squoozlability than scaliness! I invite you to examine your mammalian privilege here.

I notice how I only hear *mammals* complaining about this.

The reptiles don't appear to care, in the slightest, about the term or its origins.

Have you asked them, or are you just speaking for them?

I'll be seeing some snakes at the weekend. I kind of want to ask them how they feel, but I don't want to trigger them, you know? Plus, they tend to bite people in the face if they're annoyed, and I want to avoid that.

I haven't been bitten in the face by a snake. As you point out, they bite people in the face when they're annoyed.

This means I have not annoyed the snake by correcting pointing out that it is an adorable squoozable fuzzy.

QED.

Maybe the snake you said that to was collaborating in its own oppression, or suffering from false consciousness.

NOW who's citing their mamallian guilt and putting words in the mouths of reptiles, again?

Are you denying that these are valid experiences reptiles may have had?

I'm saying that you aren't exactly in a stronger position to be speaking for them than I am.

Okay. Second-greatest video game, of all time, Star Control 2. And, it's available for free and runs on modern hardware, because the original company released the source. (http://sc2.sourceforge.net/)

Especially funny when you've played the original PC version, and then first meet the Yehat while playing this version with the 3DO voices added in.

I always turn the voices off. I prefer the PC menus, too.

Bonus with this version: The "Precursors" mp3 remix packs are all better than the original music.

Most of the voices aren't particularly good. The Yehat are an exception to the rule, and add a whole new facet to the species.
