This is such a straight line for a spokesman/woman for the Poles to come back with, "And if it weren't for us you'd be speaking German." Polish RAF squadrons and Polish paratroopers performed vital duties in the British armed forces in WW2, not to mention the Poles working for military intelligence liasing with partisans and resistance cells in occupied Europe.
Then again, nativist political movements pretending to be populists aren't generally noted for their understanding of history, even their own.
