I have seen dogs who have never seen a mirror bark at their reflection, before.

I have NEVER seen a dog who does this, and then, when you stand behind her so she can see *your* reflection as well, will wag her tail fiercely, charge the mirror because YOU'RE ALL THE WAY OVER THERE NOW, then turn around with a look of such shocked betrayal after the WHUMP.

In fairness to the dog, my daughter did the same thing when she was tiny.

We have mirrors on our closet doors. Occasionally our dog will see the dog in the mirror and bark at it and then run around the bedroom and upper floor trying to get to that other dog.

It took quite a while for Berkeley to figure out that the things moving around in the mirror were anything of interest. Then he was all "HOLY CRAP!" Then he was all "But they smell like glass. Meh. Oh hey! There's some fluff over there! Have you got any cheese? OH NO! WIND! AAAAAH! SAVE ME!!!!!"

Dogs are awesome.
