Washington's article reads like a kid trying to BS his way through a high school English paper. It's like he picked a character who hasn't entered popular culture to "prove" that he read the book, but then with his actual writing goes on to thoroughly demonstrate that he didn't.

I was going to comment that using 1984 to attack GW's successor might just possibly get turned around on you, given how accurately it describes GW's presidency, but that only works if the author actually read the book.
