After awhile, I've learned the difference between Ohio madness and Florida madness.
Ohio madness is a group of warped thought processes caused by Ohio thinking it's normal, when it really isn't. There are exceptions--Maggie for instance seems quite normal--but you can see Ohio madness all around her in the way her neighbors behave. Indiana has a similar madness (I grew up there, but escaped in 1985). And then there are tornadoes in both states.

Florida is occupied by mad people that know they're going to flooded or hurricaned away eventually, but stay in that gator infested swamp anyway because the beaches are beautiful and never mind that they could be turned into shark food during the next storm season.

I was gonna say...

I mean, Maggie is *wonderful* and all, but *normal*?!?

Compared to her Ohio neighbors, yes. Heck in Albuquerque, she would be considered normal, because she speaks her mind.
