It would seriously suck if you lived with other people. "Pages" of the story would be missing at a time. Sure, it's printed several times per roll, but by the time you get to the part again, it's all out of order in your head, and you've read the ending already.

Its a clever idea, but... flawed.

"Drop," set in a public restroom, takes up about three feet (90 centimeters) of a roll and can be read in just a few minutes, according to the manufacturer, Hayashi Paper.

It's not very long, thus it'd work. It'd also probably work with non linear storytelling, if a decent one of such could be put together.

ah, thanks. I admit I skipped the article, and was just going on the "nine-chapter" part.

As marketing, it's genius.

Besides, the news piece is a day old, which means someone has already bought a roll, read it, and transcribed the story to the net. Not sure how long it's going to take to get translated. Probably about a week?

This would be a great way to introduce people to the bible.

Regular bibles already have paper that's close enough to toilet paper.

And what's on that paper is close to what's on toilet paper, too!

Yeah, the translation of Ring that you can get in bookstores is pretty damn good, so I imagine this is pretty good, too.
