Oh, dear lord!

Is that ... there, underneath, at the back ... an arrestor hook?!

What is in the name of Heath Robinson were they thinking?

Without an arrestor hook, how is it supposed to stop?

But, but, but ... an arrestor hook that size is *not* stopping a frelling tank. If someone wanted it to be believable, it'd be an arrestor hook at least 5 times the size.

The Tank has learned the art of flying, or rather the knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.

It happened while he was looking for some tea. He didn't enlist so much as he was enlisted.

In my head, I just heard every support strut in that tank's suspension go "SPANG!" at a decibel level resembling a close lightning strike followed by an absurdly high-pitched SCREEEEEEEEEEEE of the armoured belly abrading along the deck; the "ping-ping-ping-ping" of all the track pins popping apart, ordinarily distinctive, drowned out by the all the rest as is the clatter of each track block as it scatters.

-- Steve's trying vigorously not to imagine the sounds the crew would be making.

Now, see, what happened is a lot of top brass got completely loaded one night and one General turned to an Admiral and said "Dude, wouldn't it be, like, totally cool if we had, like, an aircraft carrier but with tanks?"

The Admiral considered this and finally decided that this would indeed be totally awesome.

While preliminary testing didn't go to plan everyone decided that it was, indeed, totally awesome. And rather expensive. But hey, who checks military spending?

Next year they're going to add rockets. Because that'd be waaay cooler.

That's totally the wrong way to go about creating an IronMan suit...
