It's a situation where there's no downside to doing it, true.

But I'd lay money that Disney wouldn't have.

Yeah, I just bet Disney wouldn't have. >_< Pixar do seem to be decent from what I've seen of them - as I say, I'm cynical about human nature today, given the murder and all. :S

Pixar killing that little girl, of course. "I can't die until I've seen this movie." "Quick, rush her a DVD."

I'd lay money that they would have.

I know we like to gripe about Hollywood's rapacious attitude towards intellectual property rights, but for the most part they're just people, and people are, by and large, inclined to be decent when given the chance.

a) Pixar didn't bring this story to the media and they're refusing to comment on it, which makes me doubt the publicity theory.

b) The girl got to see a movie she wanted before she died. That doesn't change. Even if it wasn't 100% selfless, it was still a good act.

Right up there with Johnny Depp, who at one point snuck into the childrens' hospital where his daughter was being treated, dressed as Captain Sparrow and entertained the kiddies for a few hours. Snuck in because he didn't want the media to know.

Awright, Captain Cynical, what should they have done?

The saddest part of all is that she was too sick to watch, so her mom did a play-by-play for her.

That story choked me up a little, and that doesn't happen very often.

"Colby Curtin said she did not want to die until she saw the new Disney-Pixar movie Up."

I felt the same way after Requiem for a Dream, Colby.
