There are only two kinds of people in the world.

People who cannot help but love Achewood, and people with no soul.

sometimes I am all about sharing this with the world, dog.

PS: Yes, THAT Chris Onstad.

If having a soul means liking Achewood, I am happy to be unburdened by suchlike, and whatnot, etc.

Pff, way to cherry pick the very few not-fully-idiotic strips. Achewood is basically "Seinfeld" if Seinfeld were a comic strip with homosexual furries instead of dysfunctional Jews.

I am so intrigued by the current arc! Roast Beef is my fave.

Achewood is better read in month-long chunks, so you can get past the filler to the moments of brilliance more quickly.

Achewood is has some good stand alone bits (at least 2005 and earlier) but the entertainment is in the scripting as Olmstad's barely servicable drawing has never improved.

For me this flaw undermines any appeal longer story arcs might hold. The ideas and dialogue are clever, but aren't supported by the art, which needs an EC Segar, George Herriman or, hell, even Jim Davis or Dick Locher. I suspect a lot of Achewood fans are in fact transforming the art into something better in their heads.
