I wouldn't limit that to the IT world except for a little of it. I would really hope that when "the rules are loose and logical and supervision is results-oriented, supportive and helpful to the process," everyone's productivity rises.

That sounds awesome.

I wonder where i can find management that has enough brainpower to actually adopt that model. Well, other than Google (which has its own problems despite this) and Atlassian.

It's awesome for IT professionals to read this, but what IT client/boss is going to say "Oh! I had no idea! I'll stop with the inconsistent policies and micromanagement right away!" I mean who actually thinks their decisions are illogical?
